Owned by myself since 1994, previous owner converted TR7 V8 coupe to DHC in 1990 using 1979 DHC shell imported from USA. Car assigned original 1976 registration.
Carnelian red with roll bar and black hood. Badged as TR8 with US style cruise lights. The whole of the underside is in good condition, mudflaps all around.
Twin s/s exhaust and s/s tubular manifold running on Edelbrock 500cfm carb with JWR manifold. (sill got original SU HIF6 carbs, manifold and K&N filters). Electronic ignition and electric fan. The front brakes are 4 pot vented discs and drums on rears.
Paint not perfect as a few small blisters are staring to appear but looks ok, no structural rust.
The car is easy to maintain, great fun to drive and deserves to be driven and enjoyed much more than I have used it over the last few years. I have a file containing the many years receipts and MOTs. It has been garaged every winter and in summer months only last year’s mileage < 50 miles, lack of use forces sale.
Work done in last 5 years, new water pump, new inlet manifold and carburettor, new shock and springs all round, all new poly bushes, replaced wiper motor and linkage, new clutch slave cylinder, new steering shaft knuckle, new inner and outer steering joints and battery
The blue interior is ok but the carpet is a bit faded in places so would benefit from a couple of hours tlc. Likewise for the boot.
Old radio unit installed does not work and no aerial, but then with V8 exhaust note you not be able to hear much.
Hood is fine but ripped around front poppers
